She was brought up in Varanasi. She was a fine swimmer. She loved the ghats of Varanasi, where she spent the the most cherished period of a person's life HER CHILDHOOD... Quite a religious person... she made me chant shlokas and chalisas at a very tender age... i was of 2-3 years & was habitual of morning shlokas like कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मिः करमध्ये सरस्वति । करमूले तु गोविन्दः प्रभाते करदर्शनम् ॥ Meaning: 1: At the Top of the Hand (i.e. Palm) Dwell Devi Lakshmi and at the Middle of the Hand Dwell Devi Saraswati, 2: At the Base of the Hand Dwell Sri Govinda; Therefore one should Look at one's Hands in the Early Morning and contemplate on Them. I had memorised Durga Chalisa and Hanuman Chalisa at an age when i din even tried to know the meaning... I just had a faith that whatever she says is just beyond any reason to be sought for... From this early childhood stage to each step i was growing up she was an unending source of inspiration & enthusiasm...The happiness on my each small or big achievement increased manifold when she smiled and said "meri bitiya"
